BusinessGreen.com has today announced its latest lecture evening for business professionals on how the Copenhagen Climate Summit will affect UK firms.
Delivered in association with Citrix GoToMeeting, the evening of short lectures from leading figures from across the green business sector will take place on Wednesday 2 December from 6:30pm at 76 Portland Place in central London.
On the eve of the historic UN summit in Copenhagen, the lectures will address the current state of the talks and why a deal is of such critical importance, before looking at the commercial challenges and opportunities a new international climate treaty will present. It will also ask what happens if the long-running negotiations fail to reach a satisfactory resolution.
Hosted by BusinessGreen.com editor James Murray, the evening will feature lectures from Iain Watt of environmental think tank Forum for the Future, former Friends of the Earth executive director Tom Burke, Craig Bennett of the Corporate Leaders Group on Climate Change, and leading green business commentator and executive chairman of Solarcentury Jere my Leggett.
The lectures are free to attend and places are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
The announcement of BusinessGreen.com's second Sustainable Business Lecture follows hot on the heels of its inaugural lecture evening at Leeds University this week.
The event, which was attended by more than 120 business executives and students, addressed the UK's low-carbon transition plan and explored how businesses, governments and NGOs are planning to rapidly decarbonise the economy over the next 10 years.
